Photos of Emmons Creek Public Hunting and Fishing Grounds in Portage County.
Fountain Lake is the headwaters of Emmons Creek in Portage County. There are about 6,000 acres of public land to hunt, fish, swim, or nature hike. Emmons Creek flows about 10 miles to Long Lake on the Chain O' Lakes in Waupaca County.

There are no houses on Fountain Lake and the lake is completely surrounded by D.N.R. public hunting and fishing lands.
This is the beginning of Emmons Creek at Fountain Lake.
Brook Trout can be caught through out the entire stream.
This photo and the next photo were taken off of 3rd Ave.
The logs you see in these two photos were trees that were cut
down after a 300 acre fire in the spring of 2005.

aftermath.
A 300 lb bear was shot off 3rd avenue in the fall of 2004.

Emmons Creek Public Hunting and Fishing Lands are a great place to hunt for deer, turkey, rabbits, squirrels, grouse, ducks, geese, woodcock and more. And its only 10 to 15 minutes from the Chain O' Lakes and the City of Waupaca.
